The Boyle Heights Historical Society is putting up an altar at Mariachi Plaza at the corner of 1st Street and Boyle Avenue in honor of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). This is this coming Sunday the 30th at 5 p.m. The location is at the stage area at the plaza’s Metrolink station entrance. The Society has, for the past three years, put up its own altar, but is now inviting anyone from the community to come and add a loved one’s photo or a note on a Memory Tree that will be there.

It should be noted that anyone who puts up a photo or note and wants them back should come themselves and remove the items BEFORE that altar is taken down, which is at 10 p.m. this Sunday the 30th.
